Kajang, 25 December 2016: Two hundred youths of Dengkil, Selangor, learned how to stay safe on the road today, in a road safety programme sponsored by engineering, construction and road maintenance group Protasco Berhad.

Protasco, through its road maintenance subsidiary, Roadcare (M) Sdn Bhd, sponsored the road safety programme which included a motorcycle oil giveaway, together with the Dengkil State Assemblyman, Y.B. Tuan Shahrum Bin Mohd Sharif.

The youths attended the 10.30 in the morning talk on maintaining their vehicles and road safety held at the premises of the Resident Representative Committee (Jawatankuasa Perwakilan Penduduk) in Putra Perdana. Each participant was also presented with a bottle of 2T motorcycle oil by Shahrum.

An expert in road maintenance and construction, Protasco is continuing its CSR effort to give back to and support communities wherever it operates.

“Through this event, we hope to create an awareness and guide young road users on the importance of maintaining their vehicles as part of road safety,” said Dato’ Ir Jamal B Dato’ Nasir, Chief Operating Officer of Roadcare. Roadcare is a subsidiary of Protasco and a unit within the Protasco Maintenance division.

As part of its continuing CSR efforts, Protasco recently made a donation of RM24,000 to 10 families in Kuala Kangsar, Perak to provide them with a monthly aid of RM200 for 12 months.

Protasco has contributed in various ways to play its part as a responsible corporate citizen including purchasing school supplies amounting up to RM57,000 for 400 school children in Gua Musang, Kelantan, as well as building 6 new houses for families of the same area who’ve lost their homes due to the flood in 2015. More recently, in June 2016, Protasco through Roadcare, has worked together with the local assemblyman or ADUN of Sungai Besar to set up an emergency fund to help families in times of crisis by contributing RM100,000 to the fund.

“It is a humbling experience to be able to help those in need. Protasco will never give up doing its part to contribute to communities wherever we operate,” he added.
