Press Release

KUALA LUMPUR, 25 May 2016: Protasco Berhad maintained its net profit attributable to shareholders at RM13.4 million for the first quarter ended March 31, 2016 compared to the corresponding quarter at RM13.1 million.

Protasco saw revenue from construction activities more than double due to contributions from Phase 1 of its PPA1M project in Putrajaya.

This came on the back of a drop in revenue to RM127.1 million, following the lapse of the road maintenance under the Federal Roads Maintenance Concession and expiry of the concession for Selangor state road maintenance in December 2015.

Protasco received a 10-year renewal for the Federal Roads Maintenance contract in Peninsula Malaysia in mid February 2016.

“We expect this contract to contribute positively to the Group’s bottomline while we see our Construction Division maintaining a steady growth,” said Dato’ Sri Chong Ket Pen, Executive Chairman and Group Managing Director of Protasco Berhad.

Meanwhile, all resolutions were passed at the company’s 15th Annual General Meeting held in Kajang.

The AGM saw the re-election of Tan Sri Datuk Dr Hadenan Bin A Jalil, Dato’ Mohd Hanif Bin Sher Mohamed, and Dato’ Tan Yee Boon as the Directors of Protasco Berhad.
