Protasco Berhad via its CSR initiatives aims to help ease the burden of the victims from the recent flood incident that swept the East Coast of Malaysia in December 2014. These activities will not only help the society but also appeared to be a good corporate practice in positioning the Group’s name.

Temerloh, Pahang was chosen as it was one of the heavily devastated areas affected due to the flood. We worked together with the local NGOs - Angkatan Bahaman and Persatuan Silaturrahim Anak-Anak Temerloh Bersatu Malaysia (PESAT) to identify the flood aid recipients.

2 March 2015

Representatives from Protasco Berhad made a trip to Temerloh to meet up with En Azwar from the local NGO to discuss and finalised the flood aid recipients. They also visited some of the families’ home. From the visit, we identified the items that are needed most are refrigerators and washing machines. We also identified Syarikat Perniagaan Amutha, a local electrical goods shop in Temerloh, to supply the items for the families.

19 March 2015

Our team made a second trip to Temerloh to further inspect the current homes and shelters of the identified recipients. Deposit payment was also made to Syarikat Perniagaan Amutha.

28 March 2014

Our team departed from Unipark Suria, Kajang at 7.30 am for Temerloh, Pahang. The team’s first stop was Syarikat Perniagaan Amutha to finalise the payments for the refrigerators and washing machines as well as to coordinate the logistics.

On 27 September 2014, as part of Protasco Berhads Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, a one-day educational and fun-filled programme was conducted at Rumah Amal Anak Yatim YPIN, Banting, Selangor.

Two vans and two cars took off that morning for Rumah Amal Anak Yatim YPIN, Banting from Unipark Suria, Kajang that Saturday Morning. Upon our arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Dato Haji Ibrahim Osman, founder of the orphanage.

Rumah Amal Anak Yatim YPIN is a privately-run orphanage, it is also home to 45 residents from the age of five (5) to 21 years of age. Most of the residents were either orphans or from poor families. Some of the older ones who are already in universities are still partially supported by the orphanage.

The programme for the day began with an ice breaker fun activity lead by our invited motivational speaker, En Mohammad Hazwan Abdul Ghani. The children were encouraged to partake in all of the activities and games, such as drawing and public speaking. But it was not all fun and games when the speaker got all of the children in tears when he took them down to memory lane, reminiscing on their lives and the families that they used to have. It was a tear jerking moments shared even by our staff.

The heavy mood was then lit up with a final motivational talk by our speaker, En Mohammad Hazwan, encouraging the children to be strong, to study hard and wishing them all the best. The programme ended with a gift giving ceremony. Dr Noura Karamalla Mohamed Salih, of IUKL represented Protasco Berhad during the ceremony.?

A donation collected from Protasco Berhads staff was also given to the orphanage for school and daily expenses. Overall, the children and the participating staff seemed to have enjoyed the day.
