On 8 April 2025, Ikram Works Sdn Bhd received an official Letter of Appointment from Infrasel Sdn Bhd to carry out Pavement Condition Assessment and Road Data Survey work on roads under local authority jurisdiction across Selangor. The letter was signed and formally handed over at Infrasel's office in Shah Alam.
The scope covers two linked tasks. The first is a structured evaluation of the condition of the road pavement itself. The second is the collection of road data across the same network. Together they give the state and its local authorities a factual basis for planning upgrades, scheduling maintenance and setting priorities for safety improvements. Neither the value nor the duration of the appointment was disclosed.
At the ceremony, Infrasel Chief Executive Officer Tuan Mohamed Fariz Ghazali spoke on the case for proactive road maintenance and for planning infrastructure from data rather than from reports of failure. Ikram Works Chief Executive Officer Dato Ir Ts Hj Mohd Taufik bin Haron also addressed the gathering.
Pavement and highway engineering is a standing service line for Ikram Works, which sits in Protasco Berhad's engineering and consultancy division. The group's road maintenance and engineering businesses work on the same asset class, and condition data of this kind is what decides where maintenance money is best spent.
